What type of pad do you recommend?
We recommend the 1/2" 8lb pad; this is the pad included in our pricing. We include the thickest pad option in our pricing because we believe that as long as you have a nice, thick pad, you do not have to spend an arm and a leg purchasing an extremely thick carpet.

Can you install moisture barrier pad on a concrete floor?
The mill does not recommend this. The plastic lining on top of the pad does not allow moisture to go into the pad. In return, does not allow any moisture to go up from the concrete into the air. Therefore, trapping the moisture beneath the pad where mold and mildew can be made if the area is somewhat damp. For example, if you tape a piece of plastic to your concrete floor and leave it there for a few days, you will find condensation on the plastic. This is the same analogy that will take place with a moisture barrier pad on a concrete floor. If it is an above ground concrete floor and you are 100% confident that there is no moisture, it might be alright to use it. No, pricing is based off of how much yarn makes up the carpet.
